Nepalese Handmade Paper

Nepalese Handmade Paper – Tradition from the Himalayas

Handmade in the heart of the Himalayas, this paper is crafted from the bark of the Lokta plant— naturally regenerating and sustainably harvested from Nepal’s mountain forests.

The entire process is done by hand, from pulping the bark to sun-drying each sheet on wooden frames. Each piece features a natural texture, visible fibers, and slight variations in weight and thickness—making every sheet unique.

The color runs through both sides of the paper, not just the surface. Our collection includes screenprinted, waxed, tie-dyed, and single-colored Lokta papers. Tie-dyed papers are printed on both sides, enhancing their rich, organic look.

By choosing Lokta paper, you’re not only embracing tradition and sustainability, but also supporting fair wages, safe working conditions, and education for artisan communities in Nepal.
