An excellent quality machine-made paper. Very cloth-like when Konnyaku is applied. Absorbent, takes colour well.
Chiri means 'leftover' and refers to the bits of dark outer bark from the kozo plant that give this paper its distinctive, decorative flecks. The very smooth surface makes this paper good for printmaking or painting with bold designs. Also good for bookbinding and collage.
